POMONA, Calif.—Dozens of dogs at the Inland Valley Humane Society shelter have been euthanized because of an outbreak of the deadly parvovirus at the Pomona kennel.About 50 puppies and small dogs infected with parvovirus have been put down.

Shelter animal services supervisor Brian Sampson says canine parvovirus is airborne and easily passed from dog to dog. Small dogs and puppies are most vulnerable.

The shelter serves 16 cities east of Los Angeles, including Glendora, Walnut, La Verne and Covina.”
